The Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates staff & faculty about disaster preparedness for the hazards that may impact campus. CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERT offers a consistent, nationwide approach to volunteer training.  Through CERT, the capabilities to prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters is built and enhanced.

USC’s CERT members include more than 300 volunteers across the University park Campus, the Health Science Campus, Playa del Rey and the Orange County Center.
