The University of Southern California has participated in the Great California ShakeOut since it first began in 2008.  The annual earthquake drill is the largest disaster drill in U.S. history.  All staff, faculty and students are encouraged to participate in this university wide Drop, Cover, and Hold-On Drill every October.

In addition to participating in the drill, everyone is encouraged to make their offices and homes earthquake safe by securing furnishings and obtain an emergency preparedness kit. For more information on how to make your work, home and school locations safe, visit Earthquake Country.

Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills are coordinated globally by the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC.org) which is headquartered at USC
