The purpose of Fire Safety & Emergency Planning is to help the university manage risk in three key categories:
- To ensure that all USC facilities are fire-safe, comply with fire codes and regulations, and that all occupants know proper fire response and fire prevention protocols.
- To ensure that USC is prepared for major emergencies or disasters and is able to respond immediately, protect life and property, restore operations to normal and ensure business continuity.
- To ensure that events held on campus comply with code requirements and are conducted safely.
